As my Winter Collection for 2012 is well underway, all samples completed and production of most items already happening - it is sad to see 'others' who I have shared bits of what to expect this winter, whether it be fabrics or designs or materials I am using - taking advantage of those things I have shared.

Winter 2012 was originally going to be called 'don't be afraid of colour' because I will share with you there are 3 main colours in the collection surrounded by a rainbow of other colours thrown into the mix . . .

but its looking more like 'is all about being you - be yourself'.

Bold new designs that I haven't used in any of my previous collections before (with the exception of the Japanese Linen Pinny from Winter 2011). All new fabrics that I haven't worked with before. Embellishments and extra little features all new to the tillytom range.

And new on-board to the tillytom team in 2012 is my mum who is taking over the making of the hair accessories, plus 2 sewing ladies - both based interstate that will be working with me on my designs and sewing small runs of some of the new pieces. The quality of work of these two lovely ladies who are both working from home is exceptional and professional. I finally realised that I wasn't quite superwoman and couldn't do it all on my own.

So I wont be sharing any sneak peaks of my new Winter designs until they are ready to be released in March, but know that I am me, and nobody else - and this Winter the fashion will be fresh and new and like nobody else.

My lovely friend Jo makes the most gorgeous bags, clutches and accessories - but as yet isn't one to blog, facebook, twitter about her brand - so here I am to tell you all about her amazing designs!

Late last year I asked Jo to make my mum one of her beautiful Hobo bags as a present for her 60th birthday. Mum was in desperate need of a new bag and I knew she had been eyeing off Jo's fabulous bags. So I put in the order and Jo hand delivered the bag for mum's birthday. Mum is wrapped, the workmanship is amazing and Jo did a beautiful job.

My first quilt completed this year, and as part of AJ's challenge of 12 WIP's in 2012.

Generous Pram size (approx. 65cm x 85cm) - with all the fabrics used, found in my scraps tub. Completed with a simple stipple quilting, machine binded and finished with one of my new labels. This little quilt is for a friend of mine who has recently had baby #3, a little boy called Spencer.

Its that job seems to get put off each week until it becomes unbearable to work in, then I do a half hearted clean up to keep me going, but it alway seems to end up like this;

So, time for a change. I moved tables, created space and now I am happy. With some empty shelves ready for the 65 metres of winter fabrics that are on the way!

AJ has set the challenge - can it be done?! 12 Quilting WIP's to be completed in 2012. The rules are 6 projects must be already underway and the other 6 in the pipeline. Well, I definitely have 6 project underway but not quite 6 in the pipeline but I am sure I will add to that list in the coming weeks as I add more projects to my to-do list.

So I pulled out my tubs of WIP's and found 7 quilting projects on the go that I hadn't completed. And yes I do say TUBS of WIP's as I have a few things half done, just started and almost there - and not just quilting projects ; )

The list - 7 projects underway;

1. Cot size girls jelly roll quilt - front pieced, just needs sandwiching, quilting, binding.

2. Cot size boys quilt - blocks need sashing, then sandwiching, quilting, binding.

3. Pram size girls jelly roll quilt - front pieced, just needs sandwiching, quilting, binding.

4. Pram size girls Japanese Patchwork Quilt - just needs sandwiching, quilting, binding.

5. Small Oh Cherry quilt - everything done, binding half on, just needs to be sewn down on the back.

6. & 7. 2 x Quilted nappy change wallets (one boys & one girls) - ready to be sandwiched and quilted.

The list - projects in the pipeline;

8. Red quilt for couch in theatre room - fabrics coming via our Fat Quarter Birthday Swap (so June for me).

9. Quilt for Nate's big boy bed he is moving into around April - pattern chosen, need to add some more fabrics to my stash I already have for this one.

10. Quilt for Tom's big boy bed he is already in - pattern chosen, need more fabrics.

11. Quilt for Couch in Lounge room - already have the fabrics, pattern not yet decided but might just make it a scrappy type quilt.

12. Pram Quilt for friend's new baby boy (who is already two weeks old so need to get cracking on this one!) - pattern chosen, need fabrics.

I'll add photos of the projects shortly when I decide which one to do each month, including which one I am going to tackle first this year (which I think needs to be number 12!).

Yesterday Helen opened her package I sent her for the dolls quilt swap this year, and thankfully she loves it : )

I was really stuck as to what to make for Helen, as she is certainly an accomplished quilter and make some gorgeous quilts!

But I went with something different to challenge myself, tiny 1 inch squares and swirly quilting.

Its not perfect, but certainly very fresh and crisp and colourful!

This week Master T graduated from Kinder and is off to big school next year as a Prep.

It's a sad and a happy time - sad that he is growing up too fast which tells me I must be getting old! Happy that he is on to the next adventure in his life.

It also means I'm back to just two little ones at home with me, maybe a little bit more sewing time . . . ?

My hubby has been busy over the past few weekends building a fort/cubby house for the 3 little ones. And oh my goodness, he is doing very well! For someone with the use of only one good hand, he's gone from diesel mechanic to desk bound to cubby house builder extraordinaire!

Still a few finishing up jobs to go, like the roof - and then my job of 'fitting out' this monster play area for the kids with curtains, bunting, table and chairs and a kitchen according to Miss M!

More progress pics to come as Miss M & I make a decision on the curtain fabrics . . .

EB Dolls Quilt Swap 2011 - Sneak Peak : )

Sneaking back into my blog, its been a while between posts, but I'm back and ready to blog again.

That stuff called time has been hard to come by these past few months, but I've done a little quilting these past few weeks in between the chaos of my little business that has grown these past 6 months in a way that I couldn't have imagined in such a short space of time, kinder runs and graduation day for Master T, dance classes for Miss M, the fast growing and into everything Master N and the dreaded housework, plus gardening, cubby house building, and of course markets markets markets! More on all this and more in coming blog posts!

A little spot of quilting has been achieved, I think the first time this year . . . and here's a peak, in the post tomorrow for the talented quilter that it is off too, I hope she loves it : )

Collaborate for a Cause . . . raising money for the RFDS

For those who haven't heard about Collaborate for a Cause yet, please pop on over to the Facebook page and become a fan and spend some time going through the auction album. So many amazing handmadies have come together and collaborated to produce some amazing items up for auction.

I have collaborated together with Pink Apple and 4 Little Babushkas to bring to the auction this item below. A one of a kind ruffle front dress (prehaps something new for the summer collection) with matching accessories by Pink Apple & 4 Little Babushkas. We are donating our winning bid to the Royal Flying Doctors Service - a charity that is close to my heart.

Hubby and I come from a mining background. We met in Kalgoorlie, WA when we were both working in the mines, myself as a heavy machine operator - trucks, graders, loaders & water tankers - yes little old me was driving those massive machines, and hubby was a heavy duty diesel mechanic. As fate would have it we both drove into town on the same day - me from Victoria and him from Tasmania and ended up booking into the same caravan park, right across from each other! Friendships were formed and love blossomed. A few years later we made the move back to my home town, me pregnant with Tom : )

Hubby continued working in the mines, driving in and out from a site north of home in outback NSW. One horrible day that still sticks me everytime I visit my hairdresser bought our world crashing to a halt. When Tom was just 4 months old, and hubby was working away, I took a much needed visit to the hairdresser while my mum looked after little Tom. I received a phone call right towards the end of my appointment from hubby's boss to say there had been an accident on site and that they were waiting for the flying doctor to arrive to assess the injury. I was numb. No-one could tell me what was happening, how bad the injury was, or whether they were planning to fly him to Adelaide, Melbourne or Sydney. So we waited.

Two hours later, with the car packed and Tom and my mum with me we headed to Adelaide and arrived late in the night, with hubby already in surgery and nothing we could do but wait until morning.

Walking in the hospital ward and seeing him still haunts me. So many doctors I couldn't count them all on my fingers. Hubby suffered a severe crush injury - it turns out 3 tonne of heavy machinery doesn't agree with landing on the human body.

Thankfully hubby's injuries were something he can live with and we will always be grateful for the RFDS for saving his life x

I am a terrible blogger. I have so many posts on my list (yes I am list girl!) to write and I just can't seem to find the time to sit at the computer for long enough to get posting!

I am slowly putting together a new trans-seasonal collection for boys and girls for my label tillytom as well as the day to day chaos that comes with my 3 little cherubs at home with me all day. You can visit my facebook page for photos of what i have coming up, some available now, some in the next few weeks.

Sickness has come and gone and come again in our house over the past month and I am looking forward to warmer weather, spring, summer and more!

So, here I am . . . back to blogging . . . again : )

{Kids in the Kitchen} The Vegetable Mission #1 - Pumpkin Chocolate Cupcakes

This is the beginning of (hopefully) a regular Tuesday blog post from me. My children rarely (ok, they don't) eat vegetables, with the exception of little Nate who most of the time will eat anything and everything in site, including non-food items ; )

So I am on a Mission.

To get those vegies in disguise, to wiggle their way into some old and new recipes, and put food on the children's plates that they WILL eat, that they WILL enjoy and that they WILL ask for more of!

So what have I baked today and did I succeed! Pumpkin Chocolate cupcakes is on the menu today for morning tea - but did they eat them??? Continue reading to find out if they did!

Pumpkin Chocolate Cupcakes

1/2 cup SR Flour

1/2 cup White Sugar

1/4 cup Milk

1 egg

1/2 tblspn vanilla essence

1 1/2 tblspn butter

2 tblspn cocoa

1/2 cup cooked Pumpkin (steamed and mashed)

This will make approx. 12 mini cupcakes. If you want to make more, just double the recipe : )

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl, fill your cupcake wrappers with the mix and bake for approx. 15 minutes in a mod-oven. Cooking time may vary, so best just to keep an eye on them and test with a knife - if it comes out clean they are cooked : )

(Now I have a new oven that the temp is always too hot when reading recipes and it seems to cook things faster too ; ) So in my oven I cooked these for approx. 15 minutes at 170 C fan-forced.)

Of course, once I had popped them in the oven Matilda asked if she could lick the bowl and spoon. I was hesitant, what if she tasted the pumpkin and decided that she was 'definitely not' eating those cupcakes. Well, she licked the bowl clean . . .

and when they were cooked? She ate 2 for morning tea . . .

as did Tom . . .

{GRATEFUL} for sleeping babies

Today I am grateful for sleeping babies. In fact, not just today but for the past 5 years! Yes, I have been blessed with 3 happy sleeping babies, much to the disgust of some mothers - my apologies. I don't know what the secret is. They all have their own sleeping styles, upside down, back-to-front, inside out - anywhere on or in the bed they like to snuggle with their favourite blankets or toys. For me it has meant being able to work from home with my 3 little helpers with me each day and for that I am truly grateful being here to share each and every day with them as they grow.

{TUTORIAL} Wool Felt Crayon Roll

Materials List: Wool Felt - 2 x pieces: 5 inches x 12 inches (1 x inner layer / 1 x outer layer) & 1 x piece: 3.75 inches x 10.5 inches , Sewing Machine & Thread, Ruler, Scissors, Fabric pen/pencil, 8 Crayola Crayons (standard size). Closing option #1: 1 x Hair Elastic & 1 x Button or Closing option #2: 80cm length of ribbon. Pinking Shears to give your edges are pretty touch (optional)

Where to buy Wool Felt? I have a supplier that I have been buying my wool felt from for almost 3 years now. The quality of the wool felt and the customer service is fantastic - store link HERE.

Step 1: Mark out with your fabric pencil, 8 even spaces approx. 1.1 inch apart on your smaller piece of wool felt, leaving approx. quarter of an inch at each end. (I have made my markings in pen so you can see them).Step 2: Lay your smaller piece of felt with the marking on top of your inner layer piece of felt in the middle, and lining up the bottom edge, and sew 1/4 inch in from the edge along the bottom edges, to secure these two pieces of felt together, sewing back a few stitches at the beginning and end to secure your stitches.Step 3: Sewing your crayon pockets - starting at your first marking, sew from your bottom sewn line up to the top edge of your small piece of felt, sewing back a few stitches at the beginning and end to secure your stitches. Then move on to your next marking and do the same - until your have sewn up from all your markings and have 8 little pockets for your crayons.Step 4: Lay this sewn section on top of your outer layer of felt and sew all the way around the edge using a 1/4 seam allowance and leaving a small opening at one end of approx. 1/2 inch.

(Optional) Step 5: Trim all the way around the edge with your pinking shears to make it look pretty.

Finishing (Closure #1 - Ribbon):

Step 6: Fold your length of ribbon in half and insert the folded end into your opening of the felt pieces approx. 1/2 an inch and sew over 2 - 3 times to secure.

Step 7: Fill your pockets with your 8 crayons, roll up and wrap the ribbon around and tie with a bow.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finishing (Closure #2 - Elastic & Button):

Step 6: Insert your hair elastic into your opening of the felt pieces approx. 1/2 an inch and sew over 2 - 3 times to secure.

Step 7: Fill the roll with your 8 crayons and roll up. Pull your elastic tie a little to find the right spot to sew on your button to the back of the crayon roll and pop a small mark here with your fabric pencil. Unroll and hand sew your button on being careful not to sew through your pocket layer of felt on the inside of the roll. Roll up your crayon roll and loop your elastic over the button to secure. Your finished! Well done! Any questions with this tutorial please do not hestiate to ask : )

Last month we invited Angela of Little Fingers Photography out to our home to do a family photo session on a Sunday afternoon. Angela has done some fabulous photography for my tillytom label, so after 3 failed attempts due to bad weather and flooding at home, we finally got some fabulous weather, 3 mostly happy children and a puppy dog that just didn't want to miss out on the fun ; )

And we couldn't be more pleased with the results! So many precious photos to cherish of our little family, these are just a few favourites.

{MARKETS} Mathilda's Market Melbourne

Some photos of my stall at the Mathilda's Market on Sunday 15th May 2011, Malvern Town Hall.

Hubby was such a trooper driving down earlier in the week with all my stock and then all the way home again after the market ox

Little Nate & I caught the plane down and back and the 3 of us all enjoyed our first Melbourne market. The crowd was fantastic and so were the lovely stallholders around us.

I did a very quick spot of shopping at 10 to 1 just before the market closed, getting some Baby Gap PJ's for the kids from Animal Crakers Clothing and some gorgeous little pieces for both Nate & Matilda from MiniFin.

A new direction . . .

Warning: a bit of rambling ahead . . .

For quite a few months now I have been pondering the decision of what to do with my little business. Do I let it take me in the direction it is heading? And where is that exactly? Or do I make some changes? New products prehaps? Not really sure?

I love doing the markets and will most definitley continue to do these - but carting around so much stock is definitely a big task - not to mention keeping up with the making of all the different products I make for the markets!

I've tried a few different things these past few months. Adding in some new products to compliment my range including products by; The Little Humbugs, Pink Apple, Babylegs, B.Box & cute little suitcase sets. But then of course that just means more stock to cart around to the markets ; )

So I am thinking its time to make some firm decisions. I love my business, and I love doing the children's clothing the most. The clothing is where I started with the business and I love experimenting with different designs, fabrics and ideas. These past few months I have developed an obsession with Japanese fabrics and the way the simplest clothing designs can become a work of art with these beautiful fabrics.

And so, I have made a plan. A new direction. I plan to steer my little business towards solely catering for children's clothing, with only a few accessories to compliment the clothing range. It will be out with the crayon rolls, drawing wallets, bunting, dolls, nappy wallets, quilts, the multitude of hair accessories, and all those other little extras I have added in the last few months. And in with a new range of clothing for girls AND boys. Beautiful new designs. Gorgeous new fabrics. And I also hope to get back into wholesaling, which I have closed myself off to this year for a wide range of reasons.

It will begin with a serious sale on all the products I plan to remove from my range in late May, followed by a new Summer Collection later in the year and I look forward to seeing where I can take my little label.

I also plan on getting back to regular blogging about all things crafty, kids, cooking, some tutorials and lots more.

10 months

Here's to a better week . . .

Basically this past week has been crap. I started the week at the doctors - a chest infection and asthma had me in my pj's for the entire week and I owe my mum big time for all the help she gave me over the last week, as hubby has been away with his work.

And we ended the week with record rain fall - here at home we had over 235mm in a 24 hour period! Over 200 homes in our area have been flooded, small communities cut off from town including our own little haven out of town.

Our street was flooded in two places, with us at the end of our court we weren't going anywhere.

And the water pouring down from the bush behind us had the water lipping at the back door with just a half inch to spare.

My highlight of the week was a gorgeous parcel from Posie from a win on her blog for the QLD flood auction raffle she was running. The book is fabulous and after reading through it I am slightly annoyed at myself for not getting back the paperwork in time to be included as I can see the 3 projects I had pencilled down haven't been shown in the book. Hopefully there is another one! And the fabrics Posie sent with the book, I am already thinking about turning into a fabulous throw quilt for the lounge in the theatre room.

So here's to a better week!

A couple of photos this week that I took yesterday to show the height of the river here. Before Christmas the Weir was taken out and the river has been rising quite fast now and is expected to go much higher in the coming weeks as the 'inland sea' that is moving through Victoria reaches us in the coming days. Caravan parks along the river are becoming empty as they prepare to be inundated with the water. These photos I took with my phone yesterday down at a local caravan park called 'Apex Park'. This park is also a usually popular Summer destination for locals and tourists as it features a 'beach' area - a huge sandbar. As you can see by the photos, no sandbar and if you look closely you can see the trees well out in to the water.

Slowly getting myself geared up for another year of markets, with the first local one for the year in a couple of weeks time and the first city one - Lollipop Markets in Adelaide in 4 weeks time - eeeekkkk! So my rack of clothing had dwindle down to about a dozen dresses after the final Christmas markets so after a beautifully relaxing break away over the Christmas/New Year period I am back into full "sewing mode" and have been busy this week . . .

On our recent trip away to Tassie, my MIL opened the doors to her sewing room and gave me this bundle of goodies to bring home with me. A retired seamstress, she has boxes and cupboards full of all sorts of goodies and gave me her stash of laces, bias and zips that she no longer uses. Many of the laces are quite old, back from her days working in a haby shop as a young girl. There are even pieces from her wedding dress. I plan to use lots of lace in my upcomig Autumn/Winter 2011 creations so stay tuned for some sneak peaks in the weeks to come.

My gorgeous girl is 3 today. Where has the time gone, growing up so fast, she is a lover of books, butterflies and fairies, the colour pink and a girly girl who also loves to play trucks with her big brother and dotes over her little brother.

I know that my recipient has now received her quilt so I can show you what I made for Nicole. I had a lot of fun making this little quilt, and it was certainly hard to part with : ) I intend to make another one for my sewing room one of these days. It is the first time I have done a quilt completely done from applique, and the first time I have done quilting the way that I did it. I have no idea of the technical name of this type of quilting, and am sure I didn't do it technically right - but it was fun and I love the texture that it has created around the tree.

I had an inkling that there might be something to make me smile in this issue - but I am more like the Cheshire Cat. EB DQS 2010 Opening Day - what I received!

Today is opening day for the Annual EB Dolls Quilt Swap. My partner is yet to receive her parcel, it should be there today - grrr. . . . to Australia Post, why send something express when it doesn't arrive the next day like it is suppose to!?!?

Lucky us had our parcel arrive earlier in the week and with opening day today I was quick to open the parcel for Matilda - as I had requested a wall hanging for her room.

And haven't we been spoilt! This gorgeous quilt was made by Carmel - and we are in LOVE with the gorgeous detail and work she has put in to this little quilt.

I am attempting to finish off my dolls quilts for this years EB Dolls Quilt Swap. Post day is today, but I am running behind, luckily opening day isn't until the 5th November, so I still have time to get it in the post before then. I wanted to test myself out by trying a quilting technique I hadn't done before, so here is my first attempt

And a sneak at how I am going so far with the dolls quilt. About half way through so far, I am hoping to get the quilting finished tonight and then its just the label and binding to go.

Not the singer that is, but tonight is a PINK Fundraiser Shopping Night at our local hall. The car is packed, even though it is walkable distance for me, just not so with all the gear for the stall - trestle table, suitcases, rack and baby in the pram, lol. 18 stallholders of arts, craft, food, wine and more - plus LOTS of door prizes and giveaways happening throughout the night. More details here : ) I'm looking forward to a fantastic night and maybe even a spot of eary Christmas shopping!

Giving this little bloke lots of cuddles.

It seems he has developed a serious case of seperation anxiety and can't go a minute without mummy out of his sight, hmmm. Not much sewing had been happening, a few late nights and early mornings are beginning to happen now and I am slightly stressing about not being ready for Mathilda's Markets at the end of this month in Adelaide.

I am sure I have plenty of stock, I would just prefer to have too much stock than not quite enough ; ) I still have 3 quilt tops to put together, quilt and bind that I would love to get finished for the market, not to mentioned the 30 or so dresses in various stages; cut out, need overlocking, just need hemming, just need labels & elastic threaded that are patiently waiting to be finished.

Oh well, lets see how today goes . . .

The new Nikon D3100. I ordered this new camera earlier in the week at a local camera store and am (not so paitently) waiting for it to come in. Complete with 18-55mm & 55-300mm lenses, a bag, tripod and extra 2 year warranty I couldn't pass on that deal. This model was released just last month and also features full HD video.

A job I can't put off any longer. Its overflowing onto the floor now, so today I am cleaning out and sorting through my scraps tub. For more blogtoberfest fun - go here : )

ETA -Scraps tub all sorted. I tend to sort through to the biggest pieces and cut off all the danglely bits and keep the pieces that are usable for small projects, purses, bunting flags, appliques, etc. and then just chuck the rest. I also sort into boy fabrics and girls fabrics. About 2/3 of the way through I ditched what was still in the tub without looking! All scraps now sorted and getting posted off to a few people. Jennifer - will keep some aside at the next clean out for you : )

Blogtoberfest Day #2 ~ To Market

This morning I had a local makers market that is run 4 times a year out at the Australian Inland Botanical Gardens. The venue at the gardens is a woolshed that was completely dismantled from a station/property in the area, moved and re-erected at the gardens. A little quiet today, hopefully a bigger crowd for the Christmas market in December. The photos show the woolshed with the stallholders setting up prior to the opening of the market, and my stall for today.

I was busy sewing away at my machine while 3 little ones slept, only to be interupted by the littlest man who didn't seem to get mummy's memo about needing to finish off some sewing for tomorrow's market. He seems to have turned into a bit of a cap-napper during the day, but its pretty hard to be mad at this face. Luckily he is happy enough in his rocker while I continue to sew, but he is quite distracting with his cheeky big smiles!

Sugar and Spice Market Wrap Up

Last weekend hubby, baby Nate and I packed up the car and headed to Woodend for the Sugar and Spice Boutique Children's Market. A 6 hour car journey each way, meant 12 hours in the car keeping baby Nate amused. Thankfully he slept most of the journey with just one stop each way for a feed.

We were very lucky to be offerred a bed for the night before the market with the Moederkip family who had recently moved to Woodend to a lovely house in the woods. Thanks Nat, Paul and Bradley for welcoming us into your home for the weekend!

On the morning of the market we only had a short 5 minute drive to the lovely old hall in town where the market is held. Setting up we met our lovely neighbour for the day Helen of the little card boutique - gorgeous cards, why didn't I buy more! Always good to have a stash of cards at home for those unexpected occassions! I didn't get much of a chance to do very much shopping, but did grab some gorgeous new bibs for Nate from Sam of Gromarts, and some wooden puzzles for the kids from Fairground Child.

We were also lucky to be on an end so could spread ourselves out a little more than our allocated space which is always a good thing when you have clothing racks for people to get too.

We had great sales for the market, quite beyond expectations, and also a couple of wholesale and custom order enquiries which is always a good thing! All in all, a fabulous weeked away!

A big thankyou to Ali the market organiser for hosting the market and we look forward to doing another one soon!

EB Kids Clothes Swap 2010

The EB Kids Clothes Sewing Swap is all over for this year now and I can reveal what I made for two children now that they have been received. For Renee's little girl who is almost 7, I made a twirly patchwork skirt from Sandi Hendersons Analise Pattern. This was the first time I had used this pattern which I had, had for over 12 months in my stash and I loved making it. It involved LOTS of fabric, but well worth it. I also added a matching t-shirt with some ruffles to the front. Some pics of Renee's little girl wearing the outfit here and here. For the second outfit I made for one of Emma's boys who is almost 3. A basic pair of denim shorts with linen pockets and a matching t-shirt with applique to match the shorts.

For Matilda I received a couple of gorgeous outfits from Naomi. Naomi did an absolutely beautiful job on all the sewing and even included a pin cushion and some chocolates, yum!

For Tom I received a gorgeous outfit from Joy. I am yet to get pics of Tom wearing this one, but the detail Joy has gone to with the pockets on the shorts is fabulous!

Yesterday morning we had the photoshoot for some of my spring/summer 2010 pieces. 4 little models braved the very cool outdoor weather - with thankfully no rain! Here is just a peak at my little Miss M showing off just one of the new dresses, more photos to come next week. A very special thanks to our photographer Angela of little fingers photography. Take a look at her gorgeous work - we have booked ourselves in for a family session just before Christmas and I can't wait!

EB Kids Clothes Swap 2010 - sneak peaks

I am taking part in the EB Kids Clothes Swap again this year. Basically you make an outfit for one person's little one and in return somebody else will make an outfit for your little one. I volunteered both Master T and Miss M this year so in return I have to make two seperate outfits for two different children.

The first outfit is cut out and started for a little boy and just needs some little extras to go with it. Sneak peak of that to come shortly.

The second outfit is I think going to be a big task, as its a pattern I have had in my stash for quite a while now which until now I had looked at and told myself, too hard, don't have time. But now, even though time is not a lot I have of these day, I am going to tackle it and bought the fabrics for just the bottom part of it today;

I hope to make a start on this one on Monday : )

Mallee Almond Blossom Festival

We are off to the Mallee Almond Blossom Festival tomorrow for the day. If you are in the Mildura/Robinvale area - pop on out to Kyndalyn Park Almond Orchard just outside Robinvale on the Murray Valley Highway for a day of fine foods, wines and arts by talented locals in the area. Under a huge marquee you will find lots of yummy foods & wines plus lots of stalls of arts and crafts.

Sugar and Spice Road Trip

Woo Hoo! You will be able to find us at the Sugar and Spice Markets in Woodend in September. I had been hoping to make a Melbourne market this year and we will be nearly all the way there. Woodend will be about a 5 hour car trip for us each way, so hubby is going to be coming with little Nate and I this market so that we can drive all the way home afterwards and he can negotiate the wildlife on the road in the dark for the last few hours home.

Ladies Shopping Night - Werrimull Hall

I am just about to start packing up the car with all my market stock for a Ladies Shopping Night out at the Werrimull Hall. Werrimull is a small town not quite an hours drive from Mildura, off the main highway between Mildura and the SA border. It has a pub, school, corner store, police station and a church and is central to around 85 farms in the area. Hopefully there aren't too many skippy's on the road on the way home.

its been a while . . .

I am easily distracted by the little people in the house : )

I can't believe Spring/Summer is just around the corner. A photoshoot is all booked with the lovely Angela of Little Fingers Photography for just a couple of weeks time - check out her beautiful photography! I can't wait, and just hope the weather behaves and offers us a warm sunny morning on the day of the shoot!

I have a huge amount of sewing still to get through and a couple of wholesale orders to finish.

Spring/Summer 2010/11 Collection - sneak peaks . . .

I have been a very quiet blogger of late, busy trying to fit in cutting out and sewing every spare moment I have - when my 3 little helpers are sleeping or busy occupied playing.

This year, while also offering the OOAK (one of a kind) clothing I am bringing out a "Collection" of select items for both the boys and girls. I am using a lot of plain linen/cotton blend fabrics, mixed with designer cottons - with a couple of gorgeous Australian designed fabrics thrown in also. Some unusual embellishments and other unique features that I hope will be liked or loved. So here's a peak at some new items for the girls . . .

since I last posted. Life is certainly hectic with 3 little bodies to keep entertained at home, but it's all good and I am still managing to fit in lots of sewing and quilting in between feeds, sleeps and nappy changes with little Nate, playing lego with Master T and drawing and crafting with Miss M.

Goodies received from some online bloggy quilting friends as part of our Birthday FQ swap we are doing this year. I requested reds/blues/whites to do a new quilt for Master T

5 Weeks

5 Weeks old already, the weeks are passing too quickly and the newest member of the family is settling in very well.

He is a good feeder, sleeps well, loves a cuddle and is already as big as Master T was at 9 Weeks.

Today I am back to some more quilting. I received an order of fabric from the Fat Quarter Shop in the post today - a layer cake of this new collection by Moda - Botany by Lauren & Jessi Jung. I love the earthy colours of this collection with the hints of pinks. So once I had the two littlest ones down for nap, I got cutting and put together this simple cot size quilt top.

This one I'll hopefully have finished for the next market in a couple of weeks time.

Quilting and Clippies

I am slowly getting myself into the groove of sewing, quilting and crafting again now that baby Nate is 5 weeks old - where are the weeks going. He is growing rapidly approaching the 5kg mark already, following us about, poking out his tongue an almost smiling : )

This week I have been making these cute little ribbon clippies that I thought might be a good extra for the markets as lots of customers also ask for clips rather than hair ties.

I also got some gorgeous fabrics in the post this week from Earthgirl Fabrics (I must say fabulous fast service!) - 6 fat quarters from Alexander Henry's Willow Collection. I love these gorgeous bright prints and have a couple of the fabrics ordered for Summer : ) I made this cot size quilt top yesterday from the fat quarters.

Ruby's Cargo is a little store in Wentworth, NSW (just across the river from Mildura) that stocks a wide range of handmade goods made by local handmakers, artists, foodies and more. It is run by volunteers and is open Monday to Friday, as well as Saturday morning. I have a small selection of fabric button goodies out there currently and will be dropping this selection of clothing out there this coming week. If you haven't been out to Wentworth in a while, pop on out and check out the gorgeous array of homemade jams and chutneys, soaps, wooden toys, jewellery, crafts, quilts, beautiful smocked dresses and so much more!

Getting Ready for Summer 2010

I'm starting to get my Summer 2010 Collection ready and this is a peak at some of the fabrics that I may be working with. Some new, some old, some japanese. I can't wait to show off some of my new designs : ) I have also been approached by a photographer to do a photo shoot for me and I am excited about that in the coming months.

For Summer I am looking at releasing something a little different to what I usually do. A short run of limited pieces across all sizes - as well as the usual OOAK fabric combinations in select designs.

Today i am getting back into the swing of things and getting stuck into some more cutting out of winter dresses. I have a market on the Anzac Day long weekend here that I am really not sure how busy it might be as this is the first time this event has been run - but if your in the Mildura area, come on out to the Artback Gallery at Wentworth between 10am & 4pm for a very special handmade market : )

Today is my first day home alone with my 3 babies now that hubby has gone back to work and so far so good, little Nate is a fantastic sleeper - I can't believe that I have been blessed (touch wood) with 3 great sleepers so hopefully I can still get lots of crafting and sewing achieved in bits and pieces throughout the day.
